Cherry Blossom Fizz
The Cherry Blossom Fizz is a light, floral cocktail that feels like spring in a glass. The gin's botanical notes blend beautifully with the tart sweetness of fresh cherries, while jasmine tea offers lovely floral undetones. Refreshingly effervescent, it’s a delightful choice for a spring gathering or garden party, offering a bright yet delicate profile that captures the spirit of cherry blossoms in bloom.
Ingredients
1.5 oz gin (floral gin works well. Try Las Californias or Condesa)
0.5 oz cherry simple syrup
0.5 oz fresh lemon juice
0.5 oz jasmine tea
2 oz soda water to top
Fresh cherries (pitted), for the syrup
Cherry blossom or edible flower, for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS
Add all ingredients to a shaker, then fill the shaker with ice.
Shake well and strain into a highball glass over ice.
Top with soda water and give a gentle stir.
Garnish with a cherry blossom or edible flower for a delicate touch
CHERRY SYRUP
In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup cane sugar and 1 cup water. Add in 1 cup fresh (or frozen) cherries, pits removed.
Simmer and Stir: Place the saucepan over medium heat. Stir occasionally until the sugar is fully dissolved.
Infuse the Flavor: Lower the heat and let the mixture simmer gently for about 5-10 minutes. The longer it simmers, the more intense the flavor.
Cool and Strain: Remove from heat and let the syrup cool. Strain out the solids using a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth.
Store: Pour the syrup into a clean glass jar or bottle. Seal tightly and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
